Haddonfield, Illinois - Halloween 1963.
Michael Myers puts a mask on and stabs his sister to death. He is six years old.

Fifteen years later he escapes from the mental institution he has been living at ever since. His psyciatrist (Pleasence) is on his trail, telling the police that Myers, who haven't said one word or shown any emotions for fifteen years, "is pure evil". He believes Myers is heading home to Haddonfield, where the kids are preparing for Halloweennight.

This is one of my personal favourites, and I suppose You could say that together with Friday 13 this really started the splatter wave, or at least drew the attention of the big audiences to it.
