September 1999
Most people have heard (and many believe it) that listening to classical music would make us smarter. Scientists at Harvard University has now managed to prove (?) this a myth.
In a recent experiment they divided a group of people in two, one group got to listen to Mozart's piano sonatas while the other group got to listen to recordings of Stephen King's horror stories. At the end of the experiment both groups were tested and neither group showed any change in IQ from before the experiment.
