| Yeti sighting!
The Himalayas, October 1998: American mountaineer Craig Calonica, 45, has reported that last
week (Tuesday, October 13) while descending from a high-altitude campsite on
Mount Everest in the Himalayas he spotted two strange creatures. The creatures
had thick, shiny, black fur. They were walking on two legs just like humans.
Their arms were longer than human arms and they had very big heads.

"My point was that I saw something and what I saw was not
human, that was not a gorilla, not a bear, not a goat, and it was not a deer"
Craig says. Therefore he draws the conclusion that it was in fact two Yetis. This sighting took place on the north face of Mount Everest, about 56 kilometers to the southeast of Dinggye, Tibet. Apart from Craig Calonica his Nepali cook also saw the Yetis as they passed. The Yeti, also known as "The Abominable Snowman" has stirred
up quite some discussions among scientists and researchers in the past. The
people of Tibet has believed in the Yeti for thousands of years but no one has
managed to prove his existence. Officials of China has stated that there is
no such thing as a Yeti, but even so they have a law against hunting or capturing
  it. |
